USMLE Step-2 CK(Clinical knowledge)

This is the second exam in the series. It consists of all clinical subjects which

are Medicine, Surgery, Gynae & Obs, Pediatrics, Surgery, Psychiatry, emergency

medicine, orthopedics.

USMLE step-2 can be given before or after step-1. There is a lot of overlap

amongst these two steps. As the subjects are more clinical some students

prefer to give it first instead of step-1 so as to get rid of at least one hurdle

in the pathway. Beware there is a lot of overlap in the knowledge of step-1.

Make sure you have a sound knowledge of basic medical science subjects.

USMLE Step-2 CS (Clinical skill)

USMLE step-2 CS has to be taken by Foreign medical graduates. It is taken

in USA in many centers right now.

The exam basically consists of 10 stations which are ten rooms with mock

patients. You have to take brief history and do examination with in 20 minutes

and write briefly the history after that.

The duration of course for step-2 CS is one month

The classes are held on alternate days (three times a week), with duration

of two hours per class.
